👏STATE 🏋️‍♀️ MEDALIST🏅 Arp H.S. Sophomore Presley Johnson is one of only four East Texas girls to medal Thursday at Texas High School Women's Powerlifting Association state meet at the Comerica Center in Frisco. Johnson finished fourth in the 105 lb. weight class. She lifted a total of 580 lbs. with a 210 lb. squat, a personal record 150 lbs. on bench, and a 220 lb. deadlift. Interestingly enough, Presley competed in the state powerlifting meet after competing at Houston Livestock Show and Rodeo for Arp FFA earlier this week. She was interviewed by KYTX CBS19 when she arrived back in Arp and will be featured in one of their newscasts later Thursday evening. Two outstanding, hard working young men punched their ticket to the state powerlifting🏋️‍♂️ meet Friday. 📺WATCH📺: https://5il.co/2gb77 Junior Bryce Everett repeated as THSPA Region 3 Div. 3 Champion🥇 in the super heavyweight class matching his personal best with 1,650 lbs. in total weight lifted. He also set a Region 3 Div. 3 record in the bench press with a 505 lb. lift💪. Senior Zach Garrett finished second🥈 in the 132 lb. weight class with a 1,025 lb. total. He matched his personal best in the dead lift at 400 lbs.💪 State meet is Friday Mar. 22 at 4:00pm at the Taylor County Coliseum in Abilene. #TPND #EATT #bEASTtexas

8th grade families, it's time for your students to get ready for high school. Incoming freshmen orientation takes place Tuesday Mar. 19 & Thursday Mar. 21, 6:30pm-7:30pm at the Arp H.S. auditorium. Please plan on attending one of these two 9th grade schedule nights.

Thursday 🐅track🏃 meet at West Rusk to start at 9:00am. Due to possible adverse weather that evening, boys & girls field events will begin at 9:00am Thursday Mar. 7 with running events following around noon. STATE BOUND: Sophomore Presley Johnson won gold in her weight class Saturday at the THSWPA Region 3 Div. 3 powerlifting meet in Commerce to punch her ticket to the state meet. Nine Iron Lady Tigers did an outstanding job representing Arp, America at the regional meet. Arp Elementary has been nominated to potentially be a National Showcase School for Capturing Kids' Hearts. Big thanks to Arp Elementary parents, students, and staff that filled out middle of the year CKH surveys. Areas you said we excel: Students greeted each day, feeling welcome & safe at school, and having good relationships between home and school. Areas to grow: Utilizing student leaders & empowering them to lead things on campus, communication with parents about CKH and what we are implementing. Thank you for helping us grow!

Art: McKenzie Miller - 3rd place 9th grade. Dagan Garrett - Honorable Mention 9th grade. Karina Yanes - Honorable Mention 11th grade, and Most Suitable Title 11th grade. Taylor Moye (Not in attendance at ceremony) - Best Use of Color 12th grade. Scientific Illustration: Reagan McCormick - Overall 1st place high school division. Writing: Chris Jenkins - 1st place 10th grade. Bailey Bynum - 1st place 11th grade. We had over 30 students participate in this year's Academic Rodeo with contestants also in Academic Quiz Challenge, Agriculture Identification, and Computer Programming.
